The Domestic Violence and Adult Team Field Specialist/Case Manager, works alongside the 20th JD Domestic Violence and Adult Teams at Boulder Probation Department to provide additional support to Probation Officers. This position is being posted as a part-time or full-time, entry level position that requires flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to change, while providing high quality customer service to clients under probation supervision.
 

How will the DV and Adult Team Field Specialist/Case Manager be successful in this role?

The DV and Adult Team Field Specialist/Case Manager provides support services to Probation clients using evidenced based practices. Job duties will be performed in a variety of locations including: the Probation Department, the courthouse, Intervention and many community-based settings. The DV and Adult Team Field Specialist/Case Manager needs to be sensitive to the diverse cultural and situational needs of clients. Clients in this population may present with an array of challenges including substance abuse, mental health, trauma, abuse, interpersonal violence, and unhealthy relationships and may present as high-risk, high-need and require intensive services to be successful. This position requires building supportive relationships with clients, effective communication, maintaining accurate documentation, and developing resources and relationships in the community. This position utilizes a rehabilitative and restorative model that assists clients in exploring and developing healthy social, occupational, leisure and life skills that can aid them in being successful on probation while remaining the community.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

· Supervises a small caseload which may include lower risk domestic violence probation clients, regular adult male probation clients, courtesy out clients, and clients on administrative status.

· Interact/communicate with clients, probation officers and community partners daily.

· Conduct community outreach to develop resources for employment, housing, food banks, medical/dental care, governmental assistance and other areas as needs arise.

· Maintains a community resource list and provides referrals as needed.

· Assist clients with resume building, job search, and interview preparation.

· Help clients create a personal budget and open a bank account.

· Assists probation officers with client monitoring in the office and the community.

· Provide transportation and accompany clients to/from court, detox, treatment, half-way houses, interviews, appointments, community and governmental agencies as needed.

· Attend Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Team (MTT) meetings as required.

· Attends RESTORE program staffings to compile notes on participant progress.

· Attends DITT program staffings to compile notes on participant progress.

· Provide assistance to probation officers with in-house probation groups, including but not limited to Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT).

· Conduct/document monthly work checks in the community to verify employment.

· Document all client contacts and observations.

· Assist probation officers with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scoring assessments, returning phone calls, preparing referrals and applications.

· Contact/arrange guest speakers for life skills groups.

· Manage workload by using a shared electronic calendar system.

· Acting as a liaison between probation and community agencies. Thus, building, strengthening and maintaining relationships with those agencies that provide valuable resources for probation clients.

· Recording all interactions with clients in JPOD database.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Position Details:

The Domestic Violence and Adult Team Field Specialist/Case Manager is an entry level, full-time, 20-40-hour, contract position with monthly mileage reimbursement. This position requires the Domestic Violence and Adult Team Field Specialist/Case Manager to work out of both the Boulder and Longmont offices and perform fieldwork in and outside of Boulder County. This position may require flexibility in scheduling to accommodate program needs outside of 8:00am-5:00pm. This position also requires use of your personal vehicle to provide transportation to clients.

The Domestic Violence and Adult Team Field Specialist/Case Manager will report to Intervention Administration and be in direct communication with the Domestic Violence Unit Probation Supervisor and Adult Team Probation Supervisor. After an initial orientation with Intervention and 20th JD Probation, the Domestic Violence and Adult Team Field Specialist/Case Manager will shadow probation officers in the office and in the field. The Domestic Violence and Adult Team Field Specialist/Case Manager will work directly with probation officers and after the initial training period will be expected to perform duties and responsibilities collaboratively and independently. The Domestic Violence and Adult Team Field Specialist/Case Manager is required to keep weekly records of mileage and hours worked and will attend and participate in Team Meetings, MTT staffing’s, training and supervision.
 

Qualifications & Requirements:

· Must be 18 years of age and have a of high school diploma.

· Undergraduate students and those with a college degree in Criminal Justice, Social or Behavioral Sciences or a related field are strongly encouraged to apply.

· Knowledge of Evidenced Based Practices, Gender Specific Programming and Trauma Informed Care is helpful.

· Must have a valid driver’s license, current insurance, and have a reliable vehicle.

· Must be physically capable of participating in and successfully completing the Judicial Branch safety training programs.

· Required to pass a criminal background check prior to hire.


Starting Pay: $22.33/hour
