Title: Community Corrections Specialist Trainer
Pay: $57,845/year
Location: Multiple ICCS locations across Colorado
Hours: FT (salaried and on-call)
OVERVIEW
Develops, implements, conducts and evaluates all aspects of training of Community Corrections Specialist (CCS) staff to ensure comprehensive consistent, thorough, standards-based training at multiple worksites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Carry out all duties/responsibilities in accordance with Company values, policies and procedures, applicable laws and contractual obligations.

Serve as a resource for other staff regarding procedures and standards.

Maintain effective working relationships with other departments and stakeholders.

Act as change agent in the implementation of new practices, including modeling desired behavior and training and coaching staff.

Develop and implement community corrections specialist (CCS) training curricula that trains CCS staff to established standards, including but not limited to curriculum development, instructional design, competency development, proficiency testing, multi modal training delivery, scheduling, registration, attendance tracking, coordination of training materials and environment, and monitoring of education initiatives.

Collaborate with management, supervisors, employees and Human Resources to assess training needs and develop curriculum.

Schedule and coordinate logistics for training programs.

Develop a training curriculum that addresses identified needs and objectives, has defined outcomes, measurements and incorporates a variety of instructional methods and aids to meet the needs of all learners.

Deliver training sessions that fulfill the training curriculum, keep attendees engaged throughout, and use multiple teaching approaches to accommodate the learner’s needs.

Coordinate tracking of training attendance and that all required training is completed.

Partner with internal and external subject matter experts as necessary to conduct training.

Evaluate attendees’ progress using written examinations, practical examinations or other appropriate techniques.

Provide timely and accurate input and feedback to supervisors regarding attendee’s mastery of information, address issues as appropriate.

Develop and implement tools to measure training effectiveness. In collaboration with supervisors, use data collected to improve training programs.

Conduct quarterly check-ins during the first year for all CCS to determine areas of mastery, barriers and concerns.

Work with CCS Supervisors to develop and implement quality control procedures associated with core community corrections duties.

Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of all assigned training areas, update training materials and methods to keep current with new policies, techniques and industry requirements.

In collaboration with CCS Supervisors, provide direction and guidance to CCS staff on routine and non-routine assignments, monitor compliance with policies, procedures and standards.

Provides regular feedback, coaching, and observations at each facility for CCS staff.

May be required to work nights and/or weekends.

Is available for on-call duties as required.

At times will present training outside of normal business hours and at other worksites.

Attend required trainings and meetings, apply skills and knowledge.

Follow all safety rules and procedures established per work areas.

Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.

Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel to other work sites to attend or deliver trainings/meetings at other locations including in adverse weather.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
- AND 4 years’ experience in security and/or operations in community corrections or other residential facilities.
- SUBSTITUTION for 4 years' experience can be up to 2 years of college in criminal justice, psychology, social work, counseling, social sciences or other closely related field WITH at least 2 years of security and/or operations in community corrections or other residential facilities (or a combination of education with at least 2 years of experience to equal 4 years).
- CCS Lead or Supervisor experience will be credited as double the amount of experience (for example, 3 months of Leads experience will count a 6 months of experience)
QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated understanding of policies and procedures regarding security operations for residential facility, and Colorado criminal justice standards and practices.

Excellent ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including presenting in front of groups and diverse audiences.

Knowledge of and ability to apply current fundamental adult learning concepts, practices and methodologies.
-
Intermediate ability to enter data, generate reports and create communications/training from variety of software programs and databases.

Ability to remain calm and deescalate stressful situations.
-
Ability to plan and complete projects on time with minimal guidance.
-
Be a proactive learner as it relates to program policy, teaching tools, and technical software with the ability to effectively communicate to diverse audiences.

Knowledge of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and appropriate techniques and practices for the client population.

Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Company staff, stakeholders, and with diverse client base.

Must pass background check and have ability to access state criminal databases.
